Awesome Sauce Music Friday! The Plus Five to Dexterity Vest Edition

You guys! Why did no one tell me this song existed! Also, hello, and welcome to another edition of Awesome Sauce Music Friday.

So sorry for that initial outburst. I was just so excited to find this song this morning that it had to be this week’s featured tune. And it’s two years old. Two years. Where have I been?

Surely you are familiar with the web-based comedy series The Guild. If you’re not, here are the basics. It follows a group people with little in common except they play a World of Warcraft-like MMORPG. It’s delightfully nerdy and something even someone like myself – who isn’t really into MMOs generally – can appreciate.

You’re probably wondering what this has to do with Awesome Sauce Music Friday. To that I say to you, EVERYTHING. Felicia Day and the rest of the cast created this wonderful song for the show’s panel at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, and it was an instant smash. It’s fabulously geeky, featuring the actors cosplaying in their avatar costumes and full of gamer-speak cum double entendre. The song is titled “(Do You Want To Date My) Avatar.” It’s fun and catchy and I hope you like it. Enjoy!
