Awesome Sauce Music Friday

Awesome Sauce Music Friday! I’m not telling the truth edition

Happy Friday, my fine young skeptics. (Fine Young Skeptics, by the way, is the name of my Men At Work cover band.) It is time once again for another edition of Awesome Sauce Music Friday! This week's song is the theme song to a popular cable television show in the United States called Psych, which follows faux-psychic detective Shawn Spencer and his partner-in-crime Gus Guster. The show isn't a bad depiction of skepticism on television. Shawn is exceptionally good at recognizing his surroundings and uses this skill to open a psychic detective agency. It's pretty delightful, as is the show's theme song.

And that brings me to today's awesome sauce song, "I Know You Know" by The Friendly Indians, a pop/rock band from Orange County California. This particular tune is fun, poppy, and generally a good time. I know I can't listen to it without singing along, and I can't sing along to it without smiling. It'll make your day. I've included the original version, as well as the acoustic version by Boys II Men. Enjoy!

Yay! Psych is a great show, and I can't listen to the song without singing along either. In fact I have to raise my hands in the air and snap my fingers at the start of the instrumental intro.

'Gus Guster'? Do you actually watch this show? His name is Burton Guster.

Hardly anyone calls him Burton! Besides, everyone knows his real name is Shelby von Squgglebottom 🙂
