Speak Your Mind: Civic Duty
If you live in the United States (or maybe even if you don’t), today is the most glorious day of the year. You know what I’m saying.
The election is over. I’m writing this before Tuesday’s U.S. presidential election, but I can tell you that, for the first time since I started paying attention, I’m eager for this to be over. Regardless of how the voting turns out I’ll be glad to be able to focus on other things. Sure, I have a particular point of view and a particular candidate I want to win, but…I’m tired. I just want it to be over.
Does this make me a horrible person? What happened to my civic pride? Do you have election fatigue? Are you old enough to vote? Did you vote? (If you didn’t, you shall get a stern look from yours truly.)
