Prop 8 = H8te
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you have seen the video “Prop 8 – The Musical.” Well, of course it has been quite controversial.
Here is a Keith Olbermann interview with Marc Shaiman, Jack Black, and John C. Reilly on MSNBC about the musical.
Also, since this video goes against “conservative” values, Bill O’Reilly must complain:
Apparently, O’Reilly doesn’t know the definition of the word bigotry. Just in case he’s reading (Hi Billy), here it is:
1. stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that
differs from one’s own
2. the actions, beliefs, prejudices, etc., of a bigot
It seems pretty clear to me. Mr. O’Reilly, you are a bigot. Whether gay marriage is right or wrong doesn’t matter. By making it illegal, we’re taking away people’s civil rights. This is a constitutional issue, not a church issue.
If you are someone who feels gay marriage is wrong, then don’t do it. Don’t marry someone of your sex. It is like changing the channel when you don’t like a show on television or a song on the radio. Oh, unless you feel you should be deciding what others should do and be.
So, should gay marriage be legal? I, for one, feel that it should.
What do you think? Is there any “rational” reason why it shouldn’t be?
