Awesome Sauce Music Friday! Adele is Kind of Awesome Edition

OK, so I’ve been pretty behind on the news lately, but I feel a little piece of bad-assery deserves attention. A few weeks ago, Karl Lagerfeld – who evidently works in fashion which means we should give a crap about what he thinks – said that recent Grammy winner Adele was “a little too fat.”

Head. Desk.

He later apologized, but Adele couldn’t be bothered. She said that she never wanted to look like a magazine cover model, and has never hung out with people who are weight obsessed. “I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that,” she said.

I want to give her a high five. But maybe dedicating this week’s Awesome Sauce Music Friday post will suffice. Without further ado, here is “Someone Like You” from Adele’s Grammy winning album, 21. Enjoy!

At some point last year, never having heard of Adele before, I found myself visiting some friends for dinner. Their TV was on one of the numerous music channels available. It happened to catch my eye and I saw a breathtakingly beautiful woman on a stage very simply with man sitting behind the piano.

I noticed what I thought was tremendous pain on her face and felt compelled to turn the volume up. I sat down on the couch and was unable to take my eyes off the screen.

The deep emotion her song evoked could not be put into words. I was completely mesmerized by her voice and the emotion it conveyed.

Subsequent to this event I did some research and now have 2 of her albums.

Beauty and talent is not reserved only for the superficial.
