We can haz new peeps!

This is an exciting day in Teen Skepchick-land. For it is the day that we add not one, not two, but nine new Teen Skepchick writers. That's a lot! Allow me to introduce them:

He is a student in the South-West of England. His favourite food is curry, and used to work as a clown at kid's parties. He happens to have Depression, as well as a form of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder known as 'Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome.' Alex also fights crime. (Not really.)

She is a part-time retail assistant and full-time job hunter looking for work in nanomaterials and renewable energy technology. She writes a bit in her free time.

She was raised on religious tracts pretending to be textbooks and her skepticism resulted naturally from the facepalm following the completely sincere assertion that evolution was just a theory in class. Thank Teapot for the saving sips of the Unholy Internet. She has an odd desire to learn absolutely everything: a quest in which some standard for distinguishing fact and fiction proves to be helpful. She has a passion for pondering of all sorts, good coffee, generally unpopular vegetables, and heretical smirks. She wishes to use some or all of these inclinations to make the world a better place.

He is an amateur writer, an even more amateurish musician and the Internet's 3600th favourite redcoat. He writes a mostly skeptical daily blog at to quell the voices in his head, writes album reviews for to put voices in his head and writes novels that he hopes to put voices in other people's heads. He is currently studying Biological Sciences at Nottingham Trent University, planning to specialise in Ecology.

She is an androgynous female and relatively new member of the skeptic and feminist communities. She is thoroughly atheist, possibly anti-theist, and enjoys having a cat in her lap.

She is a second-year university student who spends most of her time far north and in really, really bad weather. She has been interested in science for most of her life, and loves being able to discover new things every day. The enthusiasm for critical thinking tagged along almost inevitably, which means that she often grumbles about creationism and other kinds of woo. When she has some spare time, Ine does taekwondo, draws and reads. That is, when she's not spending way too much time geeking on her computer.

She is a student in Chicago studying psychology and human development. She juggles occasionally, would knit you something warm if she knew you, and reads anything she can get her hands on. She was raised believing alternative medicine worked, and now she spends her time making skeptical faces at it.

She is a feminist, microbiologist, housewife with a penchant for complicated desserts and activism. She is resides in the land of cowboys with a terrifying cat, an eccentric corgi and a blonde.

She is a 22 year old student, aspiring writer, and a closet atheist. She lives in the exotic East where superstition runs rampant. She wasn't allowed to sing in the kitchen for those who do, will marry an old man. She does it anyway because the look of horror on her mother's face is amusing.

Join me in welcoming them to the team!
