Speak Your Mind: A Night at the Movies

I don't get out much. Not that there is a lot to do in my town, but I'm a homebody by anyone's standards. However, I like a nice night out at the movies.

That's not always possible because I'm super picky. I wouldn't even say I have great taste; I just don't like to watch crap. In recent years, there haven't been many movies that I've just been itching to see. But this year there is. There is The Avengers. The Dictator. Prometheus. Brave. The Hobbit. And there are soooo many more! I am practically paralyzed with anticipation!

On the cusp of the summer movie season, what films are you looking forward to? If you had to narrow it down to one, what would it be? Would you like us to review any of these movies?

If I had to narrow it down to one, no contest, it would be Snow White and the Huntsman.  I could even wait until the DVD release for The Avengers, but I can't wait to see Snow White in theaters.
Alien is one of my top ten favorite movies of all time, but I've been pretty much ignoring anything Prometheus-related out of my now instinctive dread of movie prequels.  I finally saw the trailer when I went to see Titanic again in 3D and now I'm excited.  I guess Prometheus was first conceived as a prequel to Alien, but now its got its own original story that might possibly be set within the same universe if you squint and look sideways?

I've heard that about Prometheus, as well. I've actually never seen an Alien movie, but the trailer for Prometheus looks awesome. Maybe that means I should watch Alien.

Oh man… Snow White and the Huntsman looks soooo good.
But if I had to pick one (and Cabin in the Woods doesn't count!) it would be Avenges, for sure. I go see EVERY movie in theaters, though. That will be the worst thing about China – only the super super good movies will make it there… and likely a week or two late.

For years I thought it would be a blast to have a variation on the story where Snow White is raised by Tolkien's version of dwarves, who teach her all the things they think a young lady needs to learn.  When I first saw the poster for this movie, I cracked up.

I've only seen/heard a very little about Snow White, but it might have to go on my To-See movie list.

I fully agree with Snow White and the Hunsman and would definitely like a review but also think that The Pirates!Band of Misfits are going to be fun ( I do enjoy the art of stop motion films).

Aw, yes, The Pirates! Band of Misfits looks sweet. I want to see that, too.
