Speak Your Mind: Tome for the Summer

If you’re not out of school by now, you will be soon. Which means that it’s time to put down those textbooks and pick up those novels you’ve put off reading all year. (That is, after you goof off for a couple of weeks. Go ahead. You deserve it.)

Since I’m a grown-ass woman, I don’t get a summer vacation. But there is something about the searing heat of the sun that makes me want to stay up inside and curl up with a good book. My summer reading list includes “The Hunger Games” series and The New 52 Wonder Woman. Soon, Teen Skepchick will regale you with our very own summer reading recommendations, but first, we want to know what you think.

What books will you finally get to this summer? Do you prefer fiction or nonfiction?

This summer I’m going to be rereading the Codex Alerea novels by Jim Butcher and rereading some more classic sci-fi, like Puppet Masters and Citizen of the Galaxy, maybe even the series that John Conner was based on, if i can find them. Probably also some true crime novels by Anne Rule. Those books are like catnip for me!

I have read exactly none of those books! I’ve been reading the same John Hodgman book for about 3 months now. I better get my butt in gear.

Hmmm though there are no holidays here at this time I will be reading The Magic of Reality by Richard Dawkins as soon as I have finished up this last book of the Hunger Games.
