Awesome Sauce Music Friday! You Don’t Own Me Edition

Open those eyes, sleepy head! It’s time to get down with Awesome Sauce Music Friday!

Today’s tune is a little different from past songs. It’s really a PSA aimed at getting women to vote to protect the rights that so many generations of women have fought hard to gain.

This election is shockingly close. Our safety is at stake. Our silence is consent and our vote is our voice. Let’s get active. Let’s get out every vote we can. Let’s make this election a mandate. A mandate to finally ensure women the respect, dignity and equality we all deserve! This is now. This is our call to action. Once and for all, let’s take back the power that is so inherently and naturally ours!

So it’s overtly political and has an agenda. (Namely, to get President Obama reelected.) But separate from that, it’s a song of female empowerment with some pretty stellar lip syncing.

The take away: If you’re eligible…VOTE!
