Speak Your Mind: The Boob Tube

I love television. I really do. I love having stories told to me over a period of time. That’s kind of a weird thing to say, but it’s true.

However, I have a hard time finding things that I like. As I’ve become more aware of social justice issues, I find it harder and harder to forgive slights that I see. Also, I’m just super picky. I can count the shows I really like on one hand, and two of those shows are ending in the next couple of weeks.

Maybe I should say that I want to love television, but it doesn’t really love me back.

Now that the fall television season is starting, there are a few shows I’m really looking forward to (Parks and Rec, anyone?). But most of the shows I’ve really enjoyed over the years have dwindled away and haven’t been replaced.

Are you a lover of television? What shows are you looking forward to? Do you favorite shows have skeptical or feminist bent?

Haha, I just finished writing a post about this right as I saw this post. http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2013/09/17/223357881/how-blogging-and-twitter-are-making-us-smarter

I’m personally a huge fan of Orphan Black, Supernatural, Dr Who…I love TV. Say Yes to the Dress is my jam.
