Awesome Sauce Music Friday! Sassy Sidekick, Bitchy Nerd or Neighbor Edition

You’d have to really be living in your own world to miss Lorde’s smash hit “Royals.” Even the sad clown cover has been all over the place. This week’s featured song is a Lorde parody, but it draws attention to serious issues of representation of different races in popular culture. It’s called “Typecast” and it points out the limited range of characters women of color get to play in television and movies. It’s kind of depressing, but it will always be worth drawing attention to.
